This Cookie Policy explains how CreativeSoul Photography uses cookies and similar technologies on creativesoulphoto.com (the "Site"), what each one does, and how to control them. Read it alongside our Privacy Policy.

1. What Cookies Are

A cookie is a small text file a website stores on your device. It lets the site remember things between page loads, such as what is in your cart or whether you already dismissed a banner.

We also use technologies that work like cookies:

  • Pixels and tags. Tiny pieces of code that report when you view a page or take an action, used mainly for advertising and analytics.
  • Local storage. Data your browser stores on your device, similar to a cookie but with more capacity.
  • Session storage. Data cleared as soon as you close the tab.

Throughout this policy, "cookies" covers all of these.

2. The Cookies We Use

2.1 Strictly Necessary

These keep the Site working. They cannot be turned off through our banner, and the Site will not function correctly without them.

Cookie or technologySet byWhat it doesHow long it lasts
Session cookieCreativeSoulKeeps your session active as you move between pagesUntil you close your browser
Cookie consent recordCreativeSoulRemembers your cookie choices so we stop asking12 months
Cart and checkout cookiesShopifyKeeps items in your cart and carries you through checkoutUp to 2 years
Payment security cookiesStripeDetects fraud and verifies paymentsUp to 1 year
Booking session cookiesAcuity SchedulingHolds your selections while you book a sessionSession to 1 year
Security and load balancingHosting providerProtects the Site and routes trafficSession to 1 year

2.2 Analytics

These tell us which pages, galleries, and offers people actually use. They are optional and are only set if you accept.

Cookie or technologySet byWhat it doesHow long it lasts
`_ga`Google Analytics 4Distinguishes one visitor from another2 years
`_ga_[container-id]`Google Analytics 4Maintains session state2 years
`_gid`Google AnalyticsDistinguishes visitors24 hours
`_gat`Google AnalyticsLimits how often data is sent1 minute

Data collected: pages viewed, time on page, referral source, device and browser type, approximate location at city level, and actions such as form submissions and button clicks. We have IP anonymization enabled. We do not use Google Analytics to identify you personally.

2.3 Advertising and Retargeting

These let us show our work to people who visited the Site, and let us measure whether our ads worked. They are optional and are only set if you accept.

Cookie or technologySet byWhat it doesHow long it lasts
`_fbp`Meta PixelIdentifies your browser for ad delivery and measurement90 days
`fr`MetaDelivers and measures ads on Facebook and Instagram90 days
Meta Pixel eventsMetaReports actions such as page view, lead form submission, and purchaseRetained by Meta per its policies
ManyChat widget cookiesManyChatRecognizes returning visitors in the chat widget and links conversations to your messaging profileUp to 1 year

What this means in practice: if you browse our newborn session page and then see a CreativeSoul ad on Instagram a few days later, that is the Meta Pixel at work. Declining advertising cookies stops that.

2.4 Functional

These improve the experience but are not required. They are optional.

3. Your Choices

3.1 The Cookie Banner

The first time you visit, a banner appears at the bottom of the screen. Nothing beyond strictly necessary cookies is set until you make a choice.

  • Accept All turns on analytics, advertising, and functional cookies
  • Reject All keeps only strictly necessary cookies
  • Manage Preferences lets you turn each category on or off individually

Your choice is stored for 12 months.

3.2 Changing Your Mind

Click Cookie Settings in the Site footer at any time to change your preferences. Changes take effect immediately for new cookies. Cookies already on your device stay until they expire or you clear them in your browser.

3.3 Browser Controls

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings:

  • Chrome: Settings, then Privacy and security, then Third-party cookies
  • Safari: Settings, then Privacy
  • Firefox: Settings, then Privacy & Security
  • Edge: Settings, then Cookies and site permissions

Blocking all cookies will break parts of the Site, including booking and checkout.

3.4 Platform and Industry Opt-Outs

  • Google Analytics: install the browser opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
  • Google ads: adjust your settings at adssettings.google.com
  • Meta ads: open Facebook or Instagram, go to Settings, then Ads, then Ad preferences
  • Industry-wide: optout.aboutads.info and youronlinechoices.eu

3.5 Do Not Track

Browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal, but there is no agreed standard for how sites should respond, and we do not currently respond to it. We do honor Global Privacy Control signals where our platform supports them, treating them as an opt-out of advertising cookies.

4. What Happens If You Decline

The Site works. Booking works, checkout works, and your gallery works. What changes:

  • We lose visibility into which pages and galleries people actually engage with
  • You will see our ads less often and less relevantly
  • We cannot measure whether an ad led to a booking

We would rather you make an informed choice than an uninformed one.

5. Third-Party Cookie Policies

Cookies set by our vendors are governed by their policies:

  • Google: policies.google.com/technologies/cookies
  • Meta: facebook.com/policies/cookies
  • Shopify: shopify.com/legal/cookies
  • Stripe: stripe.com/cookies-policy/legal
  • Acuity Scheduling and Squarespace: squarespace.com/cookie-policy
  • Mailchimp: intuit.com/privacy/statement

6. Changes to This Policy

We update this policy when we add or remove tools. The "Last updated" date reflects the current version. If we add a new category of cookie, the banner will reappear and ask for your choice again.
